American Pocket Bullies

Breeders have the duty to protect the health, happiness, true nature, and good condition of the American Bully breed. It is important to prevent any problems or extreme features that might harm these qualities and make sure such issues do not continue. Any deviations from the breed's standards should be considered as faults, and their importance should be judged based on how much they affect the dog's health, happiness, and ability to carry out its usual tasks.

When focusing on quality, size and weight should never take priority over the key traits of the breed. The American Bully is known for its sturdy, strong, and well-built body, which comes from its roots in the American Pit Bull Terrier and influence from other bull breeds. Keeping the dog in a balanced, properly proportioned state with good muscle development is essential.

The head should be in a suitable size, reasonable, and not overly exaggerated to allow for proper breathing and vision. This breed, although muscular, stays lively and quick. Even though it has a strong build, the American Bully has a powerful and enduring appearance, which is matched by its gentle and loyal personality. Keeping to these standards helps maintain the breed's health and character over time.

The American Bully is a medium-sized breed known for its strong build and unique blocky head shape. It is recognized for its impressive muscle tone and power, making it generally easier to handle compared to its bull breed relatives like the APBT, SBT, and AST. These dogs typically have lower energy levels and are less likely to display aggressive behavior toward other dogs. While some working lines may have a mild prey drive, it is usually not as strong as in terrier breeds.

Although American Bullies are sometimes described as "muscley couch potatoes," they still need plenty of exercise, mental engagement, and proper training. This breed has developed over about 30 years and comes in several varieties: Pocket, Classic, Standard, and XL, each with its own characteristics. All of our dogs are classified under the Pocket category.
